The code we operate by.

You hired an agency and got decks. Underboss is the operator you bring inside to build the system that stays.

Omertà.

/oʊˈmɛrtə/, noun, Sicilian

A code of silence. The pact that says what happens inside the family stays inside the family.

Why the companies we build inside never appear on our website. And why that is the whole point.

Most founders burn a quarter on an agency and end up with a content calendar nobody opens. That is the problem this room exists to solve.

That is how Underboss operates. We don't print client logos. We don't write the case studies. We don't take credit on stage for work that wasn't ours to claim. The companies we work inside built something worth protecting, and the way they grew it stays between us.

Our best proof is the clients we'll never name. Every result on this site is either ours, from companies we own and run, or referenced under NDA with the founder's permission. When you ask for references, we connect you directly. The room stays the room.

Mafia is not a metaphor here. It is an operating model. Small on purpose. Senior by default. Decisions made in the room. Loyalty to the family over the audience. The work speaks. Or it doesn't. There is no third option.

The founder

A letter from Don Mateo.

I've been building companies most of my life. Some worked. Some of the early ones didn't. Every one of them taught me the same thing: the product was never what killed it.

What kills most startups is that nobody finds them. Founder builds something good, raises money, hires an agency, burns through a quarter and six figures, and ends up with a content calendar and a Slack channel where someone sends weekly reports nobody opens.

Nobody taught me organic growth. I learned it building companies that had to grow, with a background in sales and psychology and a refusal to depend on paid channels.

Dxstinity. Notorious Festival. Those are where we built the system. Our own companies, our own money. Everything we deploy on clients was tested there first. The same engine has since driven 650M+ organic views in a single year at zero ad spend. Average client retention across the portfolio is 14+ months. The system holds after we leave.

I started Underboss because I kept running into founders who had better products than I did but couldn't crack the growth side. That bothered me. Still does.

How it works is simple. My team sits inside your company, builds the growth system, and everything gets tied back to the number that matters: installs, signups, pipeline, revenue. If the numbers don't move, we haven't done our job. There's no version of this where we send you a report and call it progress.

I built the team the same way I built the companies. People who've done the work, not people who've read about it. Small on purpose. Senior by default.

If that's what you've been looking for, reach out. The first step is a 45-minute diagnostic. We map where your growth is leaking and whether we can fix it. No deck. Stays between us.

Book the diagnostic

Six rules. No exceptions.

How we operate. What you can expect. What we will never do.

We don't pitch. We don't post case studies. We don't take credit.

The work speaks. Or it doesn't. If you've been recommended into this conversation, someone trusted us enough to share us, and trusted you enough to trust the room. We protect that.

We work on your numbers, not on our reports.

We work in your data. We answer to your board. Agencies live in inboxes and status decks; we live in your dashboards. When we leave, the engine keeps running and the system stays with you.

We measure ourselves on CAC, revenue, and installs.

Not activity. Not deliverables. Not impressions. If the numbers don't move, we haven't done our job. We tell you up front what we will be measured against, and we tell you when we're losing.

We say no. Often.

We don't close everyone who inquires. The 45-minute diagnostic exists so neither of us makes a mistake. We say no to pre-product companies, founders who need brand awareness before retention, and anyone whose primary metric is activity over revenue. If we can't move the numbers you need moved, we tell you before you write a check.

Your name stays off our website. Your numbers stay out of our pitch deck.

Organic growth is a competitive advantage. We don't hand that advantage to your competitors by naming you, screenshotting your dashboard, or writing case studies you didn't approve. Default NDA. Always has been.

Senior by default. No juniors hidden behind a senior pitch.

The people in the pitch are the people in the room. We don't scale by pyramid. We scale by raising the floor on quality. Our team is small because we want it that way.

One engagement opens per quarter.Work begins within 5 business days of signing. Personal response within 48 hours.

The work speaks. Or it doesn't.

If you read the code on this page and recognized your own operating principles, the next step is a conversation. No deck. No sales pitch.
